Course is also up and running and has become a top feature locally and has attracted players from all over ireland and is available to all, seven days a week, should you wist to play a round. if you do not have any pitch and putt clubs to play with, you can hire them from farrelly's pub which is located on church street in the town.

Oldcastle is a centre for anglers and is about 6 km from Lough Ramor County Cavan and 10 km from Lough Sheelin. Sheelin is a good lake for trout and Ramor is famous for its coarse fishing.

Loughcrew Demesne, an extensive park, covers a considerable part of the local countryside.

Remains of Moylagh church and castle. The ruins of the church are very fragmentary and once belonged to the abbey of Fore in County Westmeath also only a few miles away.

Le Cheile - Annual three day festival in the summer - featuring music, art, workshops, comedy and street theatre.

Saint Oliver Plunkett's mass is on the first Sunday in July every year and pilgrims from all over attend this wonderful occasion.

Oldcastle tidy town committee have been very busy working on a local project which is located on the outskirts of the town and are hoping to complete the harvest walk later on in the year 2008?. The harvest walk is located at "the long stoney" as it is called locally, and is a wonderful walkway for all to enjoy.
